Planning for Intersec?

In the safety and security sector, reliability is your product. Nerve Agency builds robust, technology-integrated stands that demonstrate strength and innovation, helping you stand out on the world’s most competitive security floor.

About Intersec:

The Global Security Hub

For over 25 years, Intersec has been the world’s leading platform for the safety, security, and fire protection industries. It is the annual gathering point for government officials, police forces, fire chiefs, and security professionals from across the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent.

Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Intersec is distinct because it combines heavy industrial equipment (fire trucks, drones) with cutting-edge software (AI surveillance, cyber security). This creates a unique “dual-environment” where booth designs must accommodate both massive hardware and sleek digital demonstrations.

Key Exhibition Sectors & Zones

Intersec is divided into five key product sections, each requiring a tailored design approach:

  • Commercial & Perimeter Security

The largest sector. Booths here often feature physical barriers, turnstiles, and active surveillance walls (CCTV).

  • Fire & Rescue

A heavy-duty zone featuring fire trucks and suppression systems. Stands here require open floor plans and reinforced weight-bearing platforms.

  • Safety & Health

Focuses on PPE and industrial safety gear. Designs here utilize retail-style racking and mannequin displays.

  • Cyber Security

The high-tech wing. Booths resemble those at GITEX—dark, neon-lit, and screen-heavy to visualize invisible software threats.

  • Homeland Security & Policing

A high-level government zone requiring VIP meeting areas (Majlis) and privacy for sensitive discussions.

Building at Intersec:
Technical Guide for Exhibitors

Constructing for Intersec requires navigating specific venue regulations, especially regarding “Live Demonstrations” of security equipment.

Live Demos & Active Equipment

  • CCTV & Surveillance: If you are demonstrating cameras, you must adhere to strict privacy zones. Cameras cannot record public aisles or neighboring stands without permission. We design “contained” demo corridors within your booth to ensure compliance.

  • Sound & Sirens: Demonstrating alarms or sirens is permitted but strictly regulated to specific decibel levels and time slots. We install sound-dampening glass partitions to allow you to demo loud equipment without disturbing the hall.

Heavy Equipment Logistics

  • Fire Trucks & Vehicles: Many exhibitors in the Fire & Rescue hall display actual vehicles. This requires coordination with DWTC’s “Heavy Lift” logistics team. We manage the precise scheduling required to position vehicles on the stand before the aisle carpets are laid.

Rigging & Visibility

  • Hanging Banners: In the security sector, brand dominance is key. We utilize maximum-height rigging (subject to hall limits) to hang massive truss structures and branding cubes, acting as a beacon for visitors navigating the crowded halls.

Nerve Agency: Your Partner for Intersec

At Intersec, your booth needs to project Authority. A flimsy stand implies a flimsy security product. Nerve Agency focuses on structural robustness and high-tech integration.

Our Intersec Specializations:

More than just a booth, an exhibition space is an opportunity to captivate, engage, and leave a lasting impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Intersec is traditionally held in January, kicking off the Dubai exhibition calendar alongside the new year.

Generally, active fire or smoke demos are prohibited inside the halls due to venue fire sensors. However, there are designated outdoor demo areas or specific "simulated" smoke allowances that can be arranged with a special permit.

In the main halls (Sheikh Saeed, Halls 1-8), the standard maximum build height is 4.0m. Island stands (4 open sides) are typically allowed up to 6.0m, which is essential for mounting high-level surveillance cameras.

Cost depends on complexity. A "Cyber Security" style stand with LED walls will cost more than a "PPE" racking stand. Expect to invest between AED 1,800 - AED 3,500 per sqm for a custom build.
